Spies don't like us. It’s our business to make it none of their business. When you use HEY, they won't know if you opened their email, how many times you read it, where you're located, what brand phone you have, etc. All blocked --> https://hey.com/spy-trackers/

@jasonfried Do you do anything with clicks? I know some (all?) platforms register an open when the urls are clicked. Unshorten all links first?

@Christophepas This story is one reason I find myself setting up triple backup systems and checking on them weekly. Can’t be too careful when production is at stake.

Every time I see that for another service I have such a big compassion for the developers on duty. Those moments are the absolute worst.

@Christophepas I always think of the Gitlab incident when these happen. Yes, you want to hustle things back online, but you have to be careful at the same time.

I feel this would be met with more vitriol from the community but more successful companies wouldn’t complain any more.

@kjaymiller @Apple I don’t know. It’s pretty common for the owners of an App Store (or a plug-in store or any code selling system) to take 25-30%. If anything, I’m surprised they haven’t forced it on the Mac.
