@JoeBuhlig Thanks for interesting webinar yesterday. You suggested I reach out to you to continue the conversation. Please DM me with your email address.
@JoeBuhlig Previously, you had to open the app to see the list. In the Widget, you configure which list or project you want to get a peak at. I just want a quick peak and then get back to work. A quick F6 to view and the F6 to hide works great and doesn’t take any screen real estate away.
@packetvoice That makes sense. Seems very specific. I don’t use those lists at all on my Mac.
Yes. I have a slight hostility towards Roam Research. And there are reasons for that. Some of which come out in this recording. Thus, I'm explaining the concepts and alternatives to the tool so that you can find a better system in the long run.

Today! Today! Today!
I’m wrapping up the prep work on this right now. We’re covering a lot!
- Reasons to use a PKM
- Conceptual outcomes
- Practical outcomes
- Getting the most out of it
- And, of course, the tools
One hour out!
There are so many of these knowledge tools coming and going that it’s hard to keep them straight. But what happens if you boil them down to the concepts and...
@JoeBuhlig Widgets. Getting a quick snapshot of Things3 and Fantastical when I hit F6 is very valuable to me.
@packetvoice How is this different than the previous Today list? It seems the same to me.
@mcflash99 Still hesitant on those as well. It’s not worth risking my day to day work if it goes wrong. Still some nice tech, though.
What is the feature set in Big Sur that made you switch?
I’m hesitant to upgrade since a lot of my work is in the audio/video realm.
This is coming up tomorrow! If you’re interested in something other than Roam, RSVP now. Recording will be available afterwards.

I despise the jean buying process. Why does a 32” inseam actually turn out to be 30” at most brands? And a 34” is regularly 34.5”. 🤦🏻♂️
Free webinar next week! Looking at the alternatives to Roam Research. This will be both conceptual and practical.
