Has anyone used Vimeo Livestreaming for webinars instead of Zoom? I'm very intrigued. Would be half the price of Zoom for the 500 attendee plan. https://vimeo.com/features/livestreaming
@mattragland We used Vimeo Live as our main feed at church for a couple months. We kept fighting to get a solid connection to it and ended up switching to Castr. Been solid ever since. But we’re sending via RTMP and not webcam. So I can’t speak to the latter.
Church can re-open! Finally! https://twitter.com/bkives/status/1285607805781770241
How did your love of fountain pens begin? Tell us your story in the comments!
@GouletPens It was all Brian’s fault. Stumbled across his top five every day pens video. Been broke ever since.
Had a random thought for the twitch streams:
Critiquing Bullet Journal spreads.
If you have (or find) one you especially like, send it my way. 😉 🖋 📓 ✔️ #bujospreadreview
Also, I’m streaming today at 1 PM Central. Finishing up some code work on our color changing webcam border for @StreamElements.
I’ve decided it’s time to move on. If you’re looking for a 📝 content creator, 🎙sound engineer, or 💻 full-stack developer, hit me up.
📥 DMs are open.
🚀 Any RT helps. 🙏
@dowdyism @Phil_Lewis_ I was just talking to my wife about moving to a nice place like Duluth or Alpharetta. This isn't helping the argument.
Last time I did a Q&A video Mixer was still a thing.. oof
Hit me up, #askHarris number 3
@HarrisHeller Do you use a backup internet line? One main and one secondary to ensure a solid connection.
Tax season is not over. https://twitter.com/financialpost/status/1283745985949302784
@joshuaginter True. Anyone who deals with 1099s and slow clients is still working on it.
@JoeBuhlig MVP - Minimum Viable Product - especially on an easily “upgradeable” product, it is definitely the way to get things to test any market.
One thing I’ve learned about launching new things:
Get the basics out the door with as little complexity as possible. You can always refine, upgrade, or migrate later when it succeeds.
@rachelschmitz @dowdyism @JoeBuhlig I didn’t really understand how much he’d fallen into the deep end. Time for an intervention?
@garrickbailey @rachelschmitz @dowdyism Maybe. Would likely take all of us (plus Rachel) to get it done.
Third night in a row that we've been streaming some code. Starting in about 3 minutes so come hang out

This Friday at 12 PM US Central we'll be making another attempt at streaming video LIVE!

@JoeBuhlig It’s not fish. It’s rvm/rbenv, gem, mysqld, and various other pkg-install issues.
@ttscoff Sorry can’t help there either. Been running gem installs and building rbenv environments on and off the last couple weeks with no issues. Assuming here that installs are the issue.
@JoeBuhlig @bookwormfm Yeah, I agree. That’s why I’ve been stalling on it. For me it’s the note taking and retrieval, but there’s cheaper ways to solve that problem. It’s probably more “new shiny” syndrome.
@JoeBuhlig I started listening to the @bookwormfm ep on Bullet Journal but haven’t finished it yet. I’ll give that a try.
…I still want an iPad though.
@mseager @bookwormfm I have no issues with just wanting one. I want one, too. I just can’t figure out what problem it solves. Also, I think it would be too easy to go down a pit of wasted time with one. 🤷🏻♂️
@JoeBuhlig Love paper but I can never find anything when I need it! I’m considering an iPad just for handwritten notes. Very expensive notepad 💸
@mseager I had the same qualms until I switched to the Bullet Journal. I‘m always surprised at how quick I can find what I want.
When I left my last contract job I handed over my PC and wrote down the password. They couldn’t get it to work and had to wipe the thing clean to start over.
.
.
I forgot to turn off Dvorak. 🤷🏻♂️
@JoeBuhlig I know! I mainly use Things 3, but experiment with Omnifocus and Todoist pretty regularly. Todoist’s integration with Fantastical is pretty neat!
@mseager This is why I have nice pens and paper. To keep me from this rabbit hole. Please don’t encourage. 🙏
@JoeBuhlig @ulyssesapp @WorkingCopyApp Revision does grammar checking
@curtismchale @ulyssesapp @WorkingCopyApp I get it. It would be tough to do 100% of the writing process in a git client. I use Marked on a Mac for grammar and such.
Anyone else having an array of problems related to openssl lately?
@JoeBuhlig @WilsonNg89 I mean, a bell for all occasions, right?
@HeyScottyJ Is that the bell that you ring every time a project is complete or when $#!t hits the fan?
Hrm @ulyssesapp revision mode isn’t on iPad yet. That was the feature I was most excited about. Guess I’ll ha e to suffer and wait
