@codinghorror I will not rest until this is done.
The best part of Flickr's new paid model is that going pro means that your FOLLOWERS get to avoid being showered with ads. That's probably what felt most dirty about feeding Instagram. You're giving Facebook the bait to hook others with. Ugh. https://www.flickr.com/photos/46457493@N00/
@JoeBuhlig @DrewCoffman @fortelabs @WhimsThatWork You might like it. It’s an approach to digital filing that builds on and compliments GTD. I haven’t actually taken the course, but I’ve based my structure on the gist of it.
I seriously don’t know how people use Chrome on a regular basis.
I’m aware of all the common answers. I get it.
It’s just not for me though. This is just one small example.
This week’s good news: my brain has finally allowed me to read books again! 45 minutes each of the last three days. Of course, I have to take a nap immediately afterwards because it’s energy-intensive for me. But still, nice to get back to reading.
Just in case you were curious to know how long it takes to upgrade a 200GB table with 2,147,483,647 rows in it from int to bigint. The answer is 2:52 hours on extremely beefy hardware 😫
@JoeBuhlig
Thoughts on gratitude. Keep it simple and analog. Index card on dining table with the number 3 on it.
Whoa! Yet another book (forthcoming) by the one and only Cal Newport.

Google just launched handy .new links for creating new documents.
Enter http://doc.new in your browser to create a new Google Doc. Similarly, http://sheet.new for Google Sheets and http://slide.new for Google Slides.

I'm dreaming about how I'll look on those sexy new iPad Pros. Looking forward to struttin' my stuff in Liquid Retina. 😎💃
@JoeBuhlig It's a little quiet - though it does have good threads from time to time! Of course, the official @OmniFocus Forums are a great place to hang out 😁
@JoeBuhlig Well, /r/shortcuts obviously :P
Productivity, Cortex, GTD, and various programming languages :)
@JoeBuhlig @dhh Maybe because there is a difference between sourcing ideas and prioritising them

Hey @JoeBuhlig it was great listening to you on the Free Agents. Your openness and insight really resonated with me. Thanks!
We come with good news, notifications in Basecamp Classic are fixed! Thanks for bearing with us everyone! 😎 (and thanks to our awesome ops programmers!). YAY!
Amen! If only someone had told Reddit and its investors that 😄. (Before they fucked their remote employees with a return-to-base decree.) https://venturebeat.com/2014/10/01/after-raising-50m-reddit-forces-remote-workers-to-relocate-to-sf-or-get-fired/ https://twitter.com/alexisohanian/status/1053064166825586689
I have a particular disdain for “software architects” who don’t actually program. Building software is very little like building houses. The constant (and fawning) comparisons do us a serious disservice. Software architecture is leading by example, not decrees. https://twitter.com/TacubayoCosmico/status/1052958023554162694
This is one of my favorite episodes I’ve ever recorded. @JamesClear is one smart dude. Go buy his book! https://jamesclear.com/atomic-habits https://twitter.com/productivityfm/status/1051835881877905408
Listening to @JoeBuhlig’s episode in @macpowerusers and I like his simplicity and different approaches.
@JoeBuhlig I love your OF dashboard idea and use it daily. Just upgraded to OF3, and it seems that you can't group custom perspectives by tags, just by projects or a list of individual actions. Figured I'd reach out for suggestions...any ideas?

@JoeBuhlig We would recommend Onitama: http://www.arcanewonders.com/game/onitama/
@JoeBuhlig Splendor is incredible. First fun game I've played in 20 years
@JoeBuhlig If you like strategy games 7 Wonders Duel is great!
@JoeBuhlig Castles of Burgundy for a euro game or Sekigahara: the Unification of Japan for a war game.
