👋 I'm Joe Buhlig. I strive to build productivity systems that stand the test of time and help me do more than check boxes. I'm here to help you do the same.
🎙 I read a lot of books and talk about it.
🐿 I can't focus on one thing for long, so I write a lot of code for an eclectic grouping of projects.
📓 And I'm a bit obsessed with finding non-proprietary solutions to digital problems. Thus, text files for the win! 🎉
I'll send you the link to a six-minute overview video of my August 2020 spreads when you sign up for my newsletter, The Weekly Impulse.

It’s still amazing to me that I can get up in the morning, look out the window, and see deer and turkeys. Loving it! 🦌 🦃
Who wouldn’t look forward to a Victor Frankl book?
I’ve been getting lazy with my project management workflows. Thanks for enabling me, @alfredapp and @obsdmd!

Today I learned that it’s actually harder than expected to set the balance between the bass and mid/highs of a movie theatre sound setup. I tend to make the bass too high. 🤷🏻♂️
This is a big part of why I’m such a fan of plain text files. There will always be something that can read/write them.
Thought: The less technology involved, the better the tool.
Related: The tool with the least moving parts will last the longest.
Also related: Digital bits are moving parts.

Maybe @gruber would appreciate this.
Some days it’s hard to convince myself that ADHD is not an excuse to avoid work.
If you’ve bought an online course, did you actually watch it? Or not? Why?
If you don’t buy them, why?
Asking for a friend… 😉
Definitely giving this a run! 🎉

This. This is me. Only I’m terrible at the reminder piece. Thus, I can end up never responding to messages. Sorry about that if you’ve been on the other end. https://twitter.com/jessejanderson/status/1503400592059686913

Has anyone found a solid, reliable way to use Apple Pencil to write on an iPad and have it converted to type? Looking for an excuse to buy an iPad. This is my one requirement.
I’ve been working on the upcoming months worth of streams for it. Stay tuned. 😉 https://twitter.com/MyNextAction/status/1495103583167074306
It just occurred to me that I have an I9 (12900K)/ RTX 3080 machine on order right now to use as a stream encoder. Now I’m wondering if Mac Studio would be a better choice.
Finally! Something in a small form factor that can handle a lot of graphics outputs. That’s what I need. Please tell me Mac Studio is affordable.
I just set up an M1 Max machine for a coworker and it’s been incredible. The thought of a double M1 Max machine is just 🤯
